Oh my goodness. I just got an email from my first host mother.

And I'm so happy. I cried for a good five minutes. She seems so nice. 

I'm actually excited now. The sadness is overruling the excitement, but I'm trying to not focus on that right now. 

I just need Spring Awakening, MuggleCast, and Adam Lambert to keep me calm at the airport.

I'm going to be okay. I can do this.

They should just call the American Idols Live Tour 2009 "The Adam Lambert Show".

Because that's what it is.

He is phenomenal. I've never used the word "sexy" to actually describe someone. Except for Adam Lambert. Adam Lambert is the sexiest man I've ever seen in the flesh.

The fourteenth of August.

I just found out my best friend leaves the same day I do, only five hours later. 

I'm not excited about leaving yet. Please stop asking me. I won't be excited until I get there. 

Seeing Adam Lambert tonight. That makes everything better.

the twenty-forth

In about twenty-four hours (add about eighteen hours, but I don't feel like it), I will be hearing the beautiful sound that is Adam Lambert singing.

I'M SO EXCITED. And I'm seeing him with my best friend from middle school, who I haven't seen enough of at all the past three years.

Also, I'm making an appointment to get my hair cut soon. Get it all evened out so that it can grow beautifully and I won't have to get it cut while I'm in Belgium. Awesome.

I learned Anna's harmony in "Mama Who Bore Me (Reprise)". I feel cool now and have taken to singing it all the time. When people are around, and even when they're not.

Spring Awakening

I saw Spring Awakening on Sunday night, and it was as beautiful as I remembered it being.

Brilliant work, cast. You're phenomenal and I love you all to pieces.

What have we learned so far this month?

1. Sand can sunburn your feet. It's not fun.
2. Seafood is better in places where there actually is an ocean.
3. When shaving your dog, a "lion cut" means shaving only half of your dog. Not everything and just leaving a mane. It doesn't look too pretty.
4. Fireworks with girlier names are prettier.
5. Fireworks named after coffee are hard to remember. "Cafe espresso grande latte frappachino no foam whip non fat sugar free with an extra shot" . . . Yeah. My cousin-in-law Sarah and I got confused.
6. Risk is never a fun game.
7. Transformers 2 isn't really as great as everyone's facebook status says it was.
8. Lakes are better when you actually have SCENERY and everything isn't flat.
9. I'm going to miss the mountians like Diana in Next to Normal.

Let's hope the rest of July is as wonderful as the beginning was.
